Screenwriting 101

Screenwriting 101 is a 4-week live online screenwriting class for beginners and experienced writers. It costs $299 for the full course or $89 for a single class. It meets Wednesdays 5–7pm PT and is capped at 8 students. The next course starts Wed, Nov 11.

What you’ll do

Screenwriting 101 is a four-week live online class for writers at any stage. If you've never written a script, it gives you the foundations: structure, character, scene and format. If you've written for years, it gives you a room of writers who will read your pages closely and tell you what's working.

Each week the group shares pages from their screenplays. We talk through ideas, structure and characters, scene by scene, in an open forum guided by a working screenwriter. Nobody just sits and listens. You come with pages, you get notes, and you give notes to others, which is one of the fastest ways to get better.

Classes are capped at eight writers, so everyone gets detailed notes on their pages during the course. You leave with a stronger draft, a clearer plan for the next one, and a group of writers who know your script.
